Job Description

EGM is proud to be partnering with Levett Engineering in the recruitment for a Manufacturing Manager for their facility based in Elizabeth, South Australia.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing Defence and Aerospace components. The role involves managing a team of 35 operators, technicians, and engineers, coordinating with various departments, and adhering to industry regulations to meet production targets and deliver high-quality products to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

          Production Management:
  • Plan, organise, and oversee all manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate scheduling of shop floor tasks with Program Manager and Master Scheduler.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, tools, and services.
  • Maintain machine and building maintenance schedules with keeping downtime to a minimum.
  • Uphold a safe work environment.

    Budget Management:
  • Forecast requirements, prepare annual budgets, and analyse variances.
  • Monitor production metrics to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Manage staff levels, wages, and hours within budget expectations.

    Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and enforce quality control and assurance procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections.
  • Address and resolve quality issues promptly.

    Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing operators, technicians, engineers, and team leaders.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities for team members.

    Resource Management:
  • Optimise personnel levels to support production needs.
  • Maximise operational efficiency and minimise downtime.

    Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive initiatives to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices.


    Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Advanced Diploma or higher in a relevant field with a minimum of 8 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Strong leadership and accountability skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Familiarity with process improvement techniques and quality standards.
