The Opportunity: 

The Sales Estimating Manager is a pivotal role within the STAIRLOCK organisation, responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of the sales estimating process and the sales estimating team. The Sales Estimating Manager possesses comprehensive knowledge of building construction estimating, cost control, and project management. They play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company policies and procedures in the sales estimation and quoting process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership, training and development of the sales estimating team, maximizing accuracy and productivity

  • Collaborate with the sales team, understand customer requirements and project specifications for quote requests

  • Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, quotes, and project details for reference and analysis

  • Coordinate with Finance to confirm cost and price changes and update quotation costing module systems

  • Provide contract costing for large projects, ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with Sales Estimating team

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in sales estimating within the construction or building materials industry

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing structures

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-centric approach

  • Proficiency in software applications, such as Microsoft Excel and estimating software, and ERP (NetSuite)

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or business administration

  • Additional certifications or training in estimating, project management, or sales leadership are desirable
