EGM Partners are working with Rivergum Homes on the recruitment for their Head of People, Culture & Safety; a newly created role that will lead the HR and WHS functions of the business. This person will deliver on key people, culture, and safety initiatives, and be an essential driver of a positive, safe and inclusive workplace culture.

Rivergum Homes is a progressive home builder company with 100 employees and growing. Approaching 30 years in business, Rivergum Homes has a substantial footprint in the new home retail space and an enviable portfolio of residential medium density projects.  

Rivergum Homes is currently partnering with the South Australian Government in delivering multiple affordable housing initiatives and will be expanding to a new head office located in Bowden in early 2025.

About the Role
Working as a key part of the Senior Leadership Team, and reporting to the Managing Director, this newly created role will offer strategic guidance, and implement solutions in human resources, safety, and organisational development, to drive growth, ensure compliance, and foster a people first culture.

The key responsibilities will be:

  • Strategy: Collaborate with senior leadership to understand business goals and develop and deliver people, culture and safety strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Remuneration and Benefits: Provide insights and recommendations on workforce planning, talent acquisition, EVP, KPI development and salary benchmarking.
  • Organisational Development: Drive cultural change focused on building a high performance culture,  retention of staff and talent management processes, including performance reviews, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Training & Development: Review and implement succession planning practices to identify high-potential employees and support their career development. Implement employee induction programs tailored to roles.
  • Leadership: identify leadership development needs and implement programs that build leadership capabilities.
  • WHS: Lead the WHS team and drive the continuous improvement of WHS risk management across the organisation.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on employee relations matters and ensure policies are in compliance with regulatory frameworks.

About You
We are looking for a progressive, and inspirational leader who has experience delivering P&C initiatives, driving positive cultural change, working with Executive leaders and is experienced in leading teams. You will be an out of the box thinker, passionate about all things people and culture, with a problem-solving mentality and a focus on continuous improvement. 

You will have excellent interpersonal relationship and stakeholder management skills and be consultative and flexible in your approach, providing practical advice and solutions that suit the stakeholders needs.
