Job Description

Work for a not-for- profit organisation that empowers Aboriginal Nations to strengthen their connections to Country, culture and community and focuses on offering services to Aboriginal nations to achieve sustainable social, cultural and economic outcomes by building on the recognition of their native title.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support including word processing, minute taking, maintenance of files, correspondence and photocopying with appropriate mannerisms and customer services
  • Taking detailed telephone messages, screening of incoming calls and answering requests
  • Maintain appointment diaries and schedules
  • Prepare and file documents in the Federal Court or other jurisdictions
  • Organise meetings with legal representatives and other relevant external parties
  • Respond to enquiries from clients, other agencies and the public via email, telephone or in writing
  • Maintain database(s) of client address details and other relevant requirements
  • Maintain database of briefing documentation for Legal Officers

Key Requirements:

  • Sound or developing experience in a similar role with exceptional ability to provide a legal secretarial service within the context of a law firm
  • Proven highly developed administrative and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with a broad range of people and to anticipate needs and act upon them proactively
  • Highly developed customer service skills with proven experience in their application to internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the application of the Microsoft Office suite
  • A current South Australian Drivers Licence
