As part of Maras Group’s commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join the finance team. 

This Accountant position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Maras Group’s financial success, digital transformation journey, succession plan and the opportunity to partner closely with a savvy CFO. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain and manage the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations

• Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and ensure timely and accurate reporting

• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, identifying areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements

• Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

• Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations

• Create processes and financial  templates 

• Preparation of BAS 

• Assist with Payroll Commitments

• Dashboard performance and governance reporting 

• Training team in digital transformation and rolling out new systems and processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• CPA or CA

• Strong systems and Excel experience 

• Comfortable dealing with large data sets 

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams

• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
